Phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) is a group of benefical bacteria capable of solubilizing organic phosphate into anorganic phosphate. So that, applications of PSB as biofertilizer agents can improve plant growth. The objective of this research was to analyze the effectiveness of inoculation of single isolate of selected PSB on increasing the growth of pre-nursery palm oil seeds in peat soil. This research was designed as Randomized Groups Factorial with two factors and three replication. The first factor was isolate factor which was employed seven isolates, namely BB_UB6, BB_K9, BB_K2, BB_HS13, BB_UB19, BB_UB5, BB_HP28 of PSB, and the second factor was repetition of PSB inoculation factor (1, 2, and 3 times). The effectiveness of isolate tested was analyzed by inoculating them on germinated-palm oil employed 1 kg peat soil in polybag. The plants were maintained by following the existing protocol. Inoculation of the selected PSB isolates was started with 0 day-after plant (dap), 14 dap, 30 dap and 60 dap. The observed parameters included crown growth and root growth. The result showed that there was no significant interaction between the inoculation of single isolates of PSB and repetition of PSB inoculation factor on all parameters, and the two sole factor. The repetition of PSB inoculation factor had significant influence in increasing of roots dry weight. All isolates were effective in increasing of roots dry weight, roots wet weight, roots length, and crown wet weight of palm oil seed. The highest P absorbed by palm oil seed was found in the plant inoculated by isolate BB_K2 with 2 times of PSB inoculation factor, which was 0,6%. Keywords : Phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB), palm oil, biofertilizer, peat soil.
