The development issues through the mass media, both print and online media on
issues Chevron Bioremediation may adversely affect the company's image. The
emergence of negative news through the mass media both print and electronic media
about PT. Chevron Pacific Indonesia related issues Chevron Bioremediation can give the
public a negative reaction to the company in response to the media coverage. Therefore,
companies must have effective issues management strategy to address the problem. This
study aims to determine strategies PGPA Department PT. CPI in determining strategy
management measures to determine the issues and strategy planning is prevention
through activities related to the development of communication strategies Chevron
Bioremediation negative issues.
The method used in this study is a qualitative method to assign four (4) subjects
of research as informants through purposive technique. The object of this study is the
Strategy Department of Policy, Government, and Public Affairs PT. Chevron Pacific
Indonesia in management of issues for maintaining the company's image. Data
information obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. Technical
analysis of the data in this study using interactive data model Miles & Huberman.
Examination of the validity of the data using the extension of participation and
triangulation techniques.
The results showed that the issue of the management strategy Department of
Policy, Government, and Public Affairs conducted by taking strategic steps to monitor the
progress of society and collect data about the growing issue. Peerencanaan prevention by
drafting a proactive policy, analyzing the organization's relationship with stakeholders,
preparing a contingency plan, specifying the message, target, and media, monitor issues
that threaten, and monitor the dynamics of the issue.
