Motivasi Guru Dalam Pencapaian Kompetensi Pada SMP Negeri Di Bagansiapiapi Kabupaten Rokan Hilir

Nowadays, the profession as teachers is demanded by everyone. It is caused by the successful of our government to make a benefit regulation for teachers’ themselves. One of this is the certification for teachers as a profession so that they can obtain the welfare from this action. The regulation is Undang-Undang No. 14 Year 2005 about Teacher and Lecturer which is arranged as a law. This research purposed to know and also to analyze what kind of motivation influenced teachers for gaining standard competences, how they keep and maintain the motivation to motivate themselves and how far the motivation can influence the teachers. This research was taken by 107 of teachers which work in SMPN in Bagansiapiapi, Bangko sub-district, Rokan Hilir Regency. The type of this research used quantitative descriptive and SPSS 17.0. The result of this research shows that the things that motivate them the most are external motivation rather than internal motivation. Since this happens, it’s easier for them to stabilize their motivation continually, because we know that the motivation from the needs of themselves is easier to be controlled, and also responsible as a human to God is the priority. In the end we found that teachers’ motivation influenced for gaining standard competences as coefficient determination 0.611 or 61.1%, meanwhile 38.9 could be influenced by others.
