Masjid Sebagai Ranah (Field) Pertarungan Kuasa Simbolik (Studi Tentang Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (Hti), Jama’ah Tabligh (Jt), Dan Kammi Di Pekanbaru, Riau)
This research studied on symbolic power of Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI), Tabligh Islamic Community (JT) and Unity of Action of Indonesian Muslim Students (KAMMI) to struggle for strategic fields as political instruments to achieve substantive power in post-new order regime. This research was using qualitative method with descriptive analyze approach. Data collection methods were observation, interview, and documentation study where Pekanbaru was as the research object. As ideological Islamic organization that fights for islamic rule formulations and how to obey constitution and legal, HTI, JT and KAMMI could be analyzed by using conceptual frame of Anthony Gidden with his agency, Antonio Gramsci with his hegemony concept and Pierre Bourdieu with his 3 key concepts as well as habitus, struggling arena (champ), and symbolic power. Habitus was formulatedin political speech and jihad to persuade individual or among individuals to transform old paradigm to the new one with islamic rule (syar’i) to formulate habitus variety and reproduction. Struggling arena was directed to dominate role arenas (politics) based on institutions, communities, and government agencies through dominating economics capital, culture, social, and symbolic. Economics capital was as ownership for production devices, materials, and money changing as investment that could be inherited continuosly in long term. Cultural capital was accumulated on intellectual, paradigm, and argument power which aimed to reproduce social status. Social capital was directed to social network ownership (collaboration) in its relation with other parties who have use right to get authority. Symbolic capital was as accumulation from economics capital, culture, and social as well as creating the prestige, status, authority, and legitimacy from other parties. Role of symbolic capital was as central of domination arena struggling and as condition to achieve symbolic power. Symbolic power was achieved from dominative symbolic struggling that could force other parties to accept systems and ideological instruments. However, it was also concerned to among groups or organizations. Symbolic power would be obtained if there were domination arenas as such arena based institutions, communities, and government agencies (bureaucrats) running by symbolic investment strategy and working affectivity of symbolic investment in the field.
