Oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) is one of the most cultivated mushrooms in the world which contains beneficial compounds for health so that the oyster mushroom is often used as an alternative food. The most frequent planting medium used for growing the oyster mushroom is sawdust that contains lignin and cellulose which are difficult to degrade. Microorganisms are used as bio-activator to accelerate the degradation of lignin and cellulose in composting process. Sawdust need to have composting process beforehand to supply the first nutrients for P. ostreatus growth. The aim of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of local thermotolerant fungal isolates such as Penicillium (PN6), Trichoderma (PNE4), and Aspergillus fumigatus (TT), as a compost bioactivator growth substrate of oyster mushroom to increase the productivity of P. ostreatus. The substrate form of P. ostreatus was sawdust composted for 5 days using formulation of thermotolerant fungal isolates as bioactivator. The result of this study showed treatment 3 (TT) gave higher place than control and other treatment on number of pileus, fresh weight, biological efficiency, dry weight. On the otherhand, treatment 4 (TT+PN6) gave lowest place for number of pileus, the diameter of pileus, fresh weight and biological efficiency
