Sintesis Dan Uji Aktivitas Antibakteri Kalkon Inti Naftalen Dari Asetilnaftalen Dan 4-Nitrobenzaldehid
ABSTRACT
Chalcone synthetic compound or natural product known as antimalaria, antioxidant, antitumor,
antiinflamation and antibacterial. Biology activity ofchalcone due toα, βunsaturated system. The
other hand, its strength affected by kind and pattern of thesubtituents that consist in aromatic
ring.The uniqueness of chalcone got the attention of the researchers, it studied a lot as target
compound. The Research about synthesized two chalcone analogue namely (E)-3-(4-
nitrophenil)-1-(naphtalene-1-il)prop-2-en-1-on(AZ1) dan(E)-3-(4-nitrophenil)-1-(naphtalene-2-
il)prop-2-en-1-on (AZ2) via aldol condensation reaction by using acetylnaphthalene and 4-
nitrobenzaldehyde as precursor. Each of the compound used KOH 6N as catalyst. The
compounds have different yields, 73,02 % for AZ1 and 47,75% for AZ2. Both of compounds
were characterized by UV spectroscopy, IR,1H-NMR and 13C-NMR. The antibacterial activity
wasdetermined by agar diffusion method in concentrationof 10 and 30 μg/disk every sample.
The test used Staphylococcus aureusand Bacillus subtilis (Gram positive bacteria), Escherichia
coli and Salmonella enteritidis (Gram negative bakteria) as bacteria test. The result of the test by
using agar diffusion showed that none inhibition bacteria growth zone that showed in AZ1 and
AZ2, this could conclude that AZ1 and AZ2 inactive antibactera activity in concentration of 10
and 30 μg/disc.
