Perempuan Dalam Konflik Agraria (Studi Pada Konflik Lahan Di Pulau Padang Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti)
The issuance of UPHHK-HTI concession license for RAPP company in Pulau Padang based on Decision Letter no. 327 / Menhut-II / 2009, has prompted a resistance movement from the community, including women who feel deprived of livelihood spaces. Women are moved to participate in struggling because they have a relationship with nature and become the most vulnerable party to suffer due to land and forest expropriation cases.
The purpose of this study was to identify the reasons for the involvement of women in the Pulau Padang conflict struggle movement, to analyze the activities of women's involvement in the conflict struggle movement and to understand the constraints of women in the struggle activity. This research uses qualitative method, with 14 research subjects consisting of key informants as many as 9 female warrior figures Padang Pulau and additional informants as many as 5 people community leaders, selected by purposive sampling technique. Data analysis techniques used are in-depth interviews and documentation. The results showed that there are four reasons behind the involvement of women in the Pulau Padang resistance movement that is due to awareness of environmental safety, economic interests, group solidarity and family solidarity. Women play a strategic role in the resistance movement that is seen from the various activities of the struggle carried out among them in the activities of mass mobilization, action arrangement, fund raising, demonstration action, mouth sewing, meeting activities and forming women's organizations. In the struggle activity, women are faced with several obstacles that arise from the family environment and community environment in the form of satire and negative views.
