Hubungan Dukungan Sosial Teman Sebaya Dengan Konsep Diri Remaja Di Panti Asuhan

Adolescence is a periode of change from child to adult. In this stage adolescent have many changes of them, the one of is self-concept. Self concept can be formed by experience and interaction. Peer social support has a big influence in shaping self-concept. The purpose of this research was to explore of adolescent peer social support and self-concept in orphanage. This research uses a descriptive correlative with cross sectional method. This research were using 103 adolescent dor samples, based on inclusive criteria using purposive samples. This research was located in orphanage Al-Anshor, Putra Muhammadiyah and Putri Aisyiyah. The final result of this research showed majority of respondent were male (68,9%), majority of respondents are middle teens SMP/MTS (57,3%), and the long stay at orphanage more than one years is (91,3%), with categories high of peer social support (50,5%), and negative of seslf-concept is (52,4%). The result of bivariate analyze showed p value (0,000) < α (0,05), it can be conclude that there is a significant relationship between of adolescent peer social support with self-concept in orphanage. Based on this research it is suggested to orphanage foundation to create an form at orphanage. This is useful to adolescent to change some information and giving peer social support to shaping positif self-concept.
