Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning (Pbl) Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Peserta Didik Kelas Vii-A Smp Negeri 40 Pekanbaru
This research aimed to improve learning process and the student’s mathematics learning achievement through implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL). This type of research is Classroom Action Research with two cycle of implementation, every cycle consits of three meetings and one time test. The research instruments used are mathematical learning instruments (Syllabus, Lesson Plans, and Activity Sheets) and data collecting instruments (Observation Sheets and Students Mathematic Tests). Data collection techniques in this research used are observation and test. The observation sheets were analyzed in qualitative desciptive, while the students Mathematic tests were analyzed in quantitative descriptive. Subject of this research are students of VII-A SMP Negeri 40 Pekanbaru in the first semester of academic year 2019/2020, which consist of 39 students. Based on the analysis of students and teacher activities after implementation of the Problem Based Learning model, it can be concluded that there is an improvement of learning process that is, students are seen to be actively participating and becoming more independent in the learning process such as in solving mathematical problems provided, presenting the results of problem solving and providing learning conclusions. In quantitative analysis, on knowledge competence the percentage of students who can reach minimum completeness criteria (KKM) on a basic score is 12,82`% increased to 46,15% in first cycle and increased to 66,67% in second cycle. On skill competence, the percentage of students who can reach minimum completeness criteria (KKM) on a first cycle score is 33,33% increased to 56,41% in second cycle. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the implementation of Problem Based Learning model can improve the learning process and the students’ mathematics learning achievement in class of VII-A SMP Negeri 40 Pekanbaru.
