This study aims to find out how the socioeconomic conditions and family education of
street children in Pekanbaru City. So it is illustrated how the social economy and education of
street children 's families in Pekanbaru city. This research was carried out in the city of
Pekanbaru within 3 months, namely from January to March. using a survey approach with the
type of analytical descriptive research and the subjects of this study were 30 families of street
children in the city of Pekanbaru. Which consists of beggars, buskers and bidders services with
data collection methods using observation and interviews. The data analysis in this study used
the percentage formula technique. From the results of the study it can be seen that the socioeconomic
condition of street children families in the city of Pekanbaru in the high category
viewed in terms of the work of parents, eating routines, personal vehicles, types of mobile
phones, residences, monthly rental rates, forms of residence, home appliances income family,
social forms and social relationships. which families of street children find that this job is very
promising because it does not need to require high skills and high educational background they
are able to get a large income. This makes the family of street children feel addicted. And also
the level of family education of street children in the city of Pekanbaru is in the low category,
many families of street children in Pekanbaru have only elementary school education. This is
what makes the families of street children stay on the streets of Pekanbaru.
