Implementasi Excellence Public Relations Dalam Pengelolaan Konflik Oleh Public Relations Energi Mega Persada Bentu Limited (Konflik Di Dusun Muara Sakal Kab. Pelalawan Tahun 2019)

Energi Mega Persada (EMP) Bentu Ltd is a national oil and gas company that operates the Bentu Block located in Riau Province. EMP Bentu Ltd is also a Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS), the party that has a cooperation contract with SKKMigas (Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities). The increasing number of EMP Bentu Ltd customers is directly proportional to the increasing number of gas wells which causes EMP Bentu Ltd have conflicts some times, regarding the drilling of new gas wells. To manage that conflicts, it requires a PR that not only performs the role of a communication technician, but also as a communication manager. The Excellence Theory is a theory that is considered a normative theory which is an indicator of PR's effectivenest in a company. This study aims to determine how the Implementation of Excellence Public Relations in Conflict Management by Public Relations Energi Mega Persada Bentu Limited (Study Case of Conflict in Dusun Muara Sakal, Pelalawan Regency, 2019).
This study using a qualitative research methods. Determination of informants using snowball sampling technique with the number of informants in this study amounted to 3 (three) at EMP Bentu Ltd and 7 (seven) which are involved in Focus Group Discussion (FGP) in Muara Sakal Hamlet. Next, the data collection techniques consisted of in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique using descriptive analysis. Techniques for checking the validity of the data used participation extension and triangulation.
The results of this study indicate that PR EMP Bentu Ltd in managing conflict in Muara Sakal implements of excellence public relations were proposed by James E. Grunig and Hunt. First, the implementation of excellence public relations in carrying out the direction of communication through conflict management in Muara Sakal Hamlet is applied in 6 out of 10 principles of excellence. Second, the implementation of excellence public relations in maintaining a balance of interests through conflict management in Muara Sakal Hamlet is applied in 8 out of 10 principles of excellence. Third, the implementation of excellence public relations in running communication channels through conflict management in Muara Sakal Hamlet is applied in 8 out of 10 principles of excellence. Fourth, the implementation of excellence public relations in considering the level of ethnicity through conflict management in Muara Sakal Hamlet is applied in 8 of the 10 principles of excellence.
