Komunikasi Terapeutik Berbasis Kartu (Flash Card) Pada Anak Dengan Gangguan Bicara (Speech Delay) Di Eka Hospital Pekanbaru
Speech delay is one of the most common causes of developmental disorders in children. It is estimated that 7-10% of children experience delays in speech. The success of Eka Hospital Pekanbaru, which was able to show progress in patients after the speech therapy process was carried out within 3 months, made researchers interested in researching this research. The purpose of this study was to determine the process and methods of Card-Based Therapeutic Communication (Flash Card) in Children with Speech Delay at Eka Hospital Pekan Baru. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods..
In this study the athors used a description qualitative method. The data collection techniques used are though observation, interviews and documentation. The subjects in the study were taken by purposive. The data and information needed in this study were obtained at Eka Hospital Pekanbaru from 1 pediatrician, 1 parent of a Speech Therapy patient and 2 speech therapists who have qualified as Speech Delay therapists
The results showed that the therapeutic communication process lasted 4 stages. The first is the preparation stage, the method is observation. In the early stages, the pediatrician will first observe the patient's attitude and seek as much information as possible about the patient through the patient's parents. Likewise with the therapist, he also looks for all the information needed about the patient, then designs strategies that will be carried out in each meeting with the patient. Enter the introductory or orientation stage. At this stage the therapist always re-introduces himself every time a therapy session is carried out and validates the accuracy of the data and plans that have been made and re-adjusted to the condition or condition of the patient every day and evaluates the results of past actions. Furthermore, the work stage, where all flascard-based speech therapy methods are carried out. This stage is the core stage of the process of implementing therapeutic communication, the method used is according to the age and ability of the patient. The last stage is the termination stage, eliminating doubt in the patient and his parents. The therapist seeks to build closeness and trust by establishing communication by coordinating with each other about what models of therapy parents should do at home as a follow-up to therapy in the hospital, and every development of therapy done by parents at home will be noted by the therapist as additional material into short-term therapy program.
