Gambaran Perilaku Merokok Orang Tua Yang Memiliki Bayi Dan Balita
The smoking behavior of parents in the house can cause various
diseases for active and passive smokers (people around smokers), especially
infants and toddlers. The purpose of this study was to describe the smoking
behavior of tau people who have children: babies and toddlers. Methods: The
method used is descriptive using a retrospective approach with the number of
respondents, namely 230 parents who have aged 0-5 years. The sample was
obtained using purposive sampling method. Methods of data collection by filling
out a questionnaire. Results: The results showed that parents who have babies
(34.3%), toddlers (45.4%), pre-school (20.3%), have good knowledge of parents
about children's health: infants and toddlers (7,6 %), sufficient (35.4%), lacking
(57%), good knowledge of cigarettes (80.1%), sufficient (17.5%), lacking (2.4%),
the number of family members who smoke in in the house, no smoking (21%),
only 1 person (62.2%), more than 1 person, (16.8%), smoking regardless of
location when smoking (51.9%), paying attention to location when smoking
(27.1%), light smokers (5.5%), moderate smokers (21.7%), heavy smokers
(24.7%). Conclusion: Many parents have the habit of smoking near babies and
toddlers even though the level of parents' knowledge about the dangers of
smoking is good.
