ABSTRACT
This research aims to find out the agribusiness of palm sugar in Rambah
District Rokan Hulu regency and formulate a strategy for developing a palm sugar
agribusiness system in Rambah District Rokan Hulu Regency. The research was
conducted in Rambah district, Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Province. The
technique of returning respondents using census methods. AHP (Analytical
Hierarchy Process) is the results of research.The results of research on agricultural
cultivation subsystem consisting of land use activities, (seed use, fertilizer use,
and pesticide use) are not seen by palm tree owners, where farmers only utilize
palm crops in the form of nira. The process of processing palm sugar into palm
sugar is long enough starting from filtering palm nira, cooking half-cooked,
mixing palm nira cooked half-cooked, printing, cooling palm sugar, then
packaging. Based on these results it can be said that the palm sugar agroindustry
is feasible to be run and developed. Marketing of palm sugar is carried out directly
from craftsmen to consumers. palm sugar agribusiness activities in Rambah
district do not currently get support from supporting institutions. Successive
priority development strategies are land processing, yield processing system,
government agency support, provision of agricultural equipment and equipment,
and marketing through social media.
