Keanekaragaman Zooplankton Di Waduk Fakultas Perikanan Dan Kelautan Universitas Riau
ABSTRACT
The diversity of zooplankton is related to water quality and it can be used as a
basic information to manage the water quality in certain area. A study aims to
understand the diversity of zooplankton in the Fisheries and Marine reservoir was
conducted on October-November 2020. The zooplankton sampling were
conducted using a plankton net in the afternoon, once/ week for a month period.
The samples were then fixed using filtered 100 liters and filtered as much as 250
ml. Then the samples was transferred into a sample bottle and labeled and then
given formaldehyde with a concentration of 5% and added glycerol with a
concentration of 5% as much as 5 drops. Then the sample was brought to the
laboratory and identified. Results shown that there were 20 types of zooplankton
that were belonged to 4 classes, namely Copepoda, Cladocera, Rotifera and
Protozoa. They were Cylops sp, Daphnia sp, Nauplius sp, Bosmina sp, Moina sp,
Alona sp, Anuraeopsis sp, Branchionus sp, Hexarthra sp, Keratella sp, Polyarthra
sp, Tricoccerca sp, Asplanchna sp, Notholca sp, Philodina sp, Agronotholca sp,
Macrocaetus sp, Amoeba Radiosa, Cryptomonas sp, Coleps sp. Among the
zooplankton found, most of them were belonged to Rotifer class. The
zooplankton community structure in the Fisheries and Marine reservoir was
categorized as medium with 1,600-2,250 cells/L.
