Gambaran Hitung Jenis Leukosit Darah Tepi Pada Pasien Penyakit Paru Obstruktif Kronik (Ppok) Rawat Inap Di Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Tahun 2018-2019
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a disease
characterized persistent and progressive airflow limitation. Air pollution and
repeated infections of the airways will activate alveolar macrophages and release
inflammatory mediators they can affect the type of leukocyte count in peripheral
blood. (GOLD) Report 2014 COPD as a progressive and life-threatening disease
estimated to affect more than 251 million people worldwide. Riskesdas in 2018,
prevalence of COPD in Indonesia was 4.5%, with the prevalence in Riau being
2.1%. This study is a retrospective descriptive study that aims to determine the
type of peripheral blood leukocyte count in patients with chronic obstructive
pulmonary disease hospitalized at Arifin Achmad Hospital Riau Province in 2018-
2019. Based on the results of the study there were 116 COPD patients who
subjected to laboratory examinations of peripheral blood. Patients with COPD
who hospitalized aged ≥65 years 55 people (47.4%), highest gender was male 91
people (78.4%), highest smoking history was 93 smokers (80.1%), t highest
number of leukocytes was 65 people (56.03 %), examination of the leukocytes
count normal basophil of 115 people (99.1%), neutrophil increased by 77 people
(66.3%), eosinophil decreased by 84 people (72.4%), lymphocyte decreased 96
people (82.7%), and normal monocyte 77 people (66.4%), comorbidities TB 33
people (28.4%), exacerbations frequency 0-1 times per year 88 people (75.9%),
length of stay is short time (
