Empowerment of farmers through farmer group institutions is community
empowerment which is the right way so that people can improve their standard of
living. Farmer groups have a very important role in bridging government programs in
the field of increasing agricultural production. Therefore, farmer groups in rural areas
must be fostered in order to awaken, develop the dynamics and independence of farmer
groups in rural areas.
The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of the function of
the Village Government in empowering guava farmer groups in 2017-2020. This study
uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The location of this research
was conducted in Kampung Perawang Barat, and data collection techniques were
carried out by interview and documentation.
The results of this study are that the West Perawang Village Government does
not fully have a strategy in empowering guava farmer groups, but the village
government has made the guava fruit a superior product in West Perawang Village
although it has not been maximized as it should be due to limited funds. As for some
of the inhibiting factors in the empowerment of farmer groups of Jambi Biji, namely
the lack of participation of farmer groups, there are still many people who are not
formed in farmer groups, and constrained by funds.
