Faktor – Faktor Yang Mempengaruhi Penggunaan Smartphone Pada Petani Padi Sawah Di Kabupaten Deli Serdang Provinsi Sumatera Utara
ABSTRACT
Smartphones are media that can be used by farmers to find agricultural
information for the needs of lowland rice farmers. The purpose of this study was
to determine the characteristics of farmers, access and function as well as the
influence of the technology acceptance model on the use of smartphones in
lowland rice farmers in Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province. The
research location is Deli Serdang Regency, precisely in Percut Sei Tuan District
and Hamparan Perak District. The method used is purposive sampling with a total
sample of 120 respondents. Data analysis is descriptive qualitative, Likert scale,
and Structural Equation Modeling. The results showed that smartphones as a
source of information in the sufficient category, smartphones as a source of
education in the low category, and smartphones as a source of entertainment in the
high category. The overall hypothesis testing is accepted and significant except
for the relationship between perceived usefulness (Y1) with attitudes towards use
(Y3) and interest in usage behavior (Y4) which shows an insignificant value. That
is, the perception that the use of smartphones can improve performance,
effectiveness and simplify the performance process is less influential for farmers
not to get bored and interested in using smartphones in the future. This is because
farmers use smartphones more for entertainment needs, so farmers will feel
interested and happy if smartphones are used for entertainment needs such as
social media and games.
