Pengaruh Literasi Informasi Dan Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter Terhadap Kinerja Guru Di SMPN Kecamatan Mandau Kabupaten Bengkalis
This study aims to analyze the effect of information literacy and
strengthening character education on teacher performance in SMP Negeri
Mandau District, Bengkalis Regency. The background of the problem in this
research is that teachers do not have optimal teacher performance. There are still
many teachers who carry out their duties and their performance is not in
accordance with the tasks given. The state of performance that is not yet optimal,
in this study, is analyzed by linking information literacy and strengthening
character education. Information literacy is needed so that teachers can carry out
their duties properly in accordance with the rules to achieve educational goals.
The better information literacy in carrying out their duties, the better the teacher's
performance. In addition to information literacy, another factor that affects
teacher performance is the strengthening of character education. Strengthening
character education is a series of abilities, which are judged to come from within
or from outside the teacher which is considered to be the main force in
influencing teacher behavior. This illustrates that strengthening character
education as a condition or condition in a series that directly or indirectly,
consciously or unconsciously can affect teachers. Quantitative type, sample 158

choices and then the data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential
statistics. After conducting research and data analysis, it was found that there was
a significant effect between information literacy variables (X1) and strengthening
character education (X2) on teacher performance (Y) teachers at SMPN Mandau
District, Bengkalis Regency, which was indicated by a regression coefficient;
1,609 sig. < 0.05. There is a significant effect between information literacy (X1)
on teacher performance (Y) with a regression coefficient of 24,892; sig.
