Strategi Pengembangan Agroindustri Pengolahan Sagu Rakyat Di Kecamatan Tebing Tinggi Barat Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti

ABSTRACT
The people's sago processing agro-industry that develops in Tebing Tinggi
Barat District, Meranti Islands Regency generally has obstacles and problems
that must be faced to maintain its production business both internally and
externally. This study aims to identify the concept of agribusiness in the agroindustry
in terms of production aspects, processing aspects, technological aspects
and marketing aspects, describe internal and external factors in the people's sago
agroindustry, as well as formulate alternative development strategies and
determine priorities from alternative agro-industry development strategies that
have been obtained. This research was conducted in Tebing Tinggi Barat District,
Meranti Islands Regency. The method used in this research is purposive sampling
method and the research respondents are taken as many as 4 people's sago
agroindustry. The results showed that the internal and external factors of the sago
refinery agroindustry include internal strength factors, namely production factors
in supporting agroindustry and the economic side of the business. Internal factors
are weaknesses, namely the availability of limited resources and the low technical
application of technology. Opportunity external factors, namely institutional
factors that have the opportunity to support business development. Threat
external factors are related to the limited product market, natural conditions,
wage increases and unfavorable product purchase prices. SWOT and AHP
analysis are used to generate strategies, namely developing sago export markets,
optimizing production and use of raw materials, utilizing technology for
marketing, facilitating access to business loans, setting production and waste
management standards, forming partnerships with sago farmers, utilizing more
modern technology. , forming associations of smallholder sago entrepreneurs,
adopting technology in quality standards and promotion, and finally utilizing
production waste
