Pengaruh Rasio Bod/Cod Pada Pengolahan Palm Oil Mill Effluent (Pome) Secara Anaerob
ABSTRACT
Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) is included in the category of slowly
biodegradable waste so it needs pre-treatment to increase its biodegradability and
increase biogas production. The purpose of this research is to study the effect of
BOD/COD ratio, COD removal efficiency, total and dissolved, volatile acid
formation (TAV), bacterial growth through biogas production and changes in pH
from the anaerobic process. This study uses a continuous stirred tank reactor
(CSTR) by varying the ratio BOD/COD 0.4; 0.5; 0.6 and 0.7 and control for 21
days. The results of the main study showed the highest removal efficiency of total
COD and dissolved COD was 82.02% and 66.04%; the highest VSS formation was
347.62 mg/L/day; The highest biogas production of 60,190 mL was obtained
through the R3 reactor, while the highest TAV formation was 182.72 mg/L/day in
the R4 reactor.
