Strategi Bertahan Hidup Petambak Ikan Patin Di Desa Kuok Kecamatan Kuok Kabupaten Kampar

ABSTRACT
Kampar Regency, especially Kuok Village, is famous as a catfish producer. The quality of life of the catfish farmers in Kuok Village cannot be separated from the role of the business they have to survive and get a strategy to survive. The aims of this research are 1). What is the survival strategy for catfish farmers in Kuok Village, Kuok Subdistrict, Kampar Regency. Using a descriptive qualitative approach to selecting subjects using purposive sampling. The results of the study that 1). The strategies used by catfish farmers are a) active strategy, b) passive strategy, c) network strategy. 2). The most influential and profitable strategy is the active strategy, because fishers make ponds as a side job, becoming ponds as additional income from their main work. Passive strategy is a strategy where the family must save expenses and manage finances so as not to experience shortages. Network strategy is a strategy in which fishers build relationships and build good relationships with family, relationships, and the neighborhood so that a sense of mutual need and help arises.
