Tingkat Penerimaan Dan Persepsi Vaksinasi Covid-19 Pada Ibu Menyusui Di Kota Pekanbaru
Covid-19 is an acute respiratory tract infection (ARIs) caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2). Breastfeeding women are at risk to suffer severe Covid-19 when infected by SARS-CoV-2, hence Covid-19 vaccination is very important for this population. The purposes of this study were to determine Covid-19 vaccination rates and factors associated with the level of acceptance and perception of Covid-19 vaccination among breastfeeding women in Pekanbaru City. This was a cross-sectional analytical study that involved breastfeeding women in 5 health centers in Pekanbaru City using a validated questionnaire. Of 216 breastfeeding women, 35.6% of them had received two doses, 8.3% of them had received one dose, while 56% were not vaccinated yet. As many as 48.6% of breastfeeding women had negative perception towards Covid-19 vaccination and 32.9% of them have a negative response to this program. The levels of education, knowledge, and income of breastfeeding women were significantly associated with Covid-19 vaccination acceptance and perception. In conclusion, Covid-19 vaccination acceptance and perception among breastfeeding women in Pekanbaru City were influenced by level of knowledge and vaccination status. Therefore, policy makers need to take into account of these factors during education program in order to increase Covid-19 vaccination rate among breastfeeding women.
