Peran Dokter Rumah Sakit Bhayangkara Pekanbaru Dalam Memberikan Keterangan Ahli Di Pengadilan Tahun 2021

Apart from the main task of a doctor providing diagnostic examination, treatment, and treatment services to their patients, doctors are also needed in the law enforcement process as in form of medical examinations for living and dead victims, and providing information in front of judges according to their knowledge. A doctor is required to comply with a court summons to provide testimony as an expert and an expert is entitled to reimbursement of costs. This research was conducted at Bhayangkara Hospital Pekanbaru with a qualitative method using in-depth interview techniques with a sample of 4 people. This study aims to determine the role of doctors at Bhayangkara Hospital Pekanbaru in providing expert testimony in court in 2021. The results showed that the role of doctors at Bhayangkara Hospital Pekanbaru as an expert witnesses had fulfilled the obligations of a doctor who was obliged to provide expert testimony in court in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code. This shows that a doctor who is brought in by investigators, public prosecutors and defendants is obliged to fulfill a court summons to provide expert testimony which will later make clear of a case. However, the fulfillment of the doctor's right to provide expert information, namely to receive reimbursement of costs, has not yet been fulfilled.
