Hubungan Pola Asuh Terhadap Kejadian Stunting Pada Balita Di Kota Pekanbaru

Stunting is the main threat to the quality of life in Indonesia and also a threat to nation’s competitiveness. One of the indirect causes of stunting is parenting. Parenting is vital because it can devine what type of food that their children ate. The reason the author does this research is to find out is there any correlation between parenting with the incident of stunting in Pekanbaru. This research use analitycal cross sectional as its research design. This research will be done to a parent and toddler in Pekanbaru as its subject. Most of the toddler are male which 2–5-year-old, and most of the mother of the toddler are less then 35 year-old, their last education at least senior highschool have no job, and the income of toddler parent are less than the minimum regional wages. Most of the mother of the toddler giving exclusive breastfeeding (86,9%), a good nutrition (91,9%), and good parenting (86,4%) to their toddler. 85 toddlers have stunting issue (41,9%), and 115 toddlers (58,1%) doesn’t. most of the toddler intake of protein are adequate (91,9%). The conclusion of this research is that there is a signicant correlation between parenting and giving exclusive breastfeeding to their toddler with the incident of stunting in Pekanbaru. Nonetheless, there is no significant correlation between feeding parenting with incident of stunting in Pekanbaru.
