THE INTENSITY EFFECT OF WATCHING EDUCATIVE YOUTUBE CHANNEL “COCOMELON” OF ALPHABET’S INTRODUCTION TOWARD EARLY AGE CHILDREN IN INDONESIAN CREATIVE SCHOOL

Education is a need that can be obtained from an early age, one of which is by introducing the alphabet as a form of basic literacy that can be obtained by children. The presence of educational content in the form of audiovisual or video is very helpful for learning patterns for early childhood. The Cocomelon youtube channel from the United States is one of the top-ranked channels (according to Socialblade.com) that provides interesting educational and entertainment content for children through the songs presented. The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence the intensity of watching the Cocomelon Youtube Channel has on the introduction of the alphabet for early childhood at the Indonesian Creative School where the Indonesian Creative School is a school that uses Cambrigde Assessment in the city of Pekanbaru.
This research uses quantitative research methods. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation. The method of distributing questionnaires is done online using a google form and offline using a questionnaire. Respondents in this study were PAUD parents aged 4 - 6 years in TK Indonesia Crative School, determined based on criteria using the Purposive Sampling Technique and using the Slovin formula as many as 55 people. After distributing the questionnaires, the researchers analyzed the data using the SPSS for windows version 25 application with simple linear regression analysis. Where the intensity of watching as a variable X and the introduction of the alphabet as a variable Y.
The results of simple linear regression analysis show that the coefficient value in this study is Y = 0.701 – 0.708 X where the constant number (a) is 0.761 and the coefficient of variable X is 0.708. While the t count of 4.484 is greater than the t table of 1492. Where H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted with a significance of 0.05. So it can be concluded that there is an influence between the intensity of watching the Cocomelon educational youtube channel on the introduction of the alphabet in early childhood at the Indonesian Creative School with a low category (in the interval table 20% -39.9%) with a coefficient of determination (R²) 27.5%.
