Analisis Prevalensi Virus Wssv (White Spot Syndrome Virus) Pada Udang Vaname (Litopenaeus Vannamei) Di Kabupaten Bengkalis
Abstract
Vaname shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) is a type of shrimp that is widely cultivated in Indonesia. Vaname shrimp dominates the breeding business in Indonesia which was previously dominated by tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon). This commodity transition was supported by the Decree of the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries No.41/2001 on July 21, 2001 which officially released vaname shrimp as a superior variety. Disease is one of the factors that limit the development of shrimp farming. Among the pathogens that cause various diseases in shrimp is the white spot syndrome virus (WSSV). Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research to detect the WSSV virus that attacks vaname shrimp. This research was conducted from February-June 2022. The purpose of this study was to analyze the prevalence rate of the WSSV virus that attacks vaname shrimp and see and observe clinical symptoms in vaname shrimp infected with WSSV in the anchorage area in the Bengkalis Regency area. The research method used in this study is the survey method. The results of the morphological examination did not show any clinical symptoms in vaname shrimp. Testing using PCR with a specific primer measuring 941 bp showed the DNA band of vaname shrimp samples from 3 locations, namely Bengkalis District, Bukit Batu District and Rupat District, which was negative for WSSV. So that the prevalence of the research results obtained is 0%.
