Rancang Bangun Sistem Pelontar Tipe Bungee Cord Untuk Wahana Uav Serindit V-2

ABSTRACT
The Serindit V-2 is a racing plane that is currently take off using the hand launch
method. Take off using the hand launch method has many weaknesses, namely a
low level of safety for launcher operator, the angle of ejection is not fixed and the
resulting launcher speed is inconsistent because it depends on the force exerted by
the launcher operator. This study aims to produce the design of the Serindit V-2
vehicle launcher system, determine the strength of the design structure of the
Serindit V-2 UAV launcher system, produce the Serindit V-2 vehicle launcher
system, and determine the performance of the launcher system that has been
made. The design process for the launcher system refers to the specifications of
the Serindit V-2 vehicle, namely wing span: 1300mm, MTOW: 2.5 kg, and a stall
speed of 12 m / s. In this research, the launcher system was successfully designed
with dimensions of length 2000 mm, width 310 mm, height 658 mm and angle of
inclination of 15 degrees. The launcher system is designed to be a bungee cord
type with the main material in the form of stainless steel square measuring 25 x
25 x 1 mm and the total mass of the launcher system is 7 kg. The results of the
structural strength calculation show that the launcher system has a safety factor
value that meets the design criteria of 9.398 and a relatively small total deflection
value of 0.6624 mm. The calculation results also show that the launcher system is
capable of producing a maximum launcher speed of 15.6586 m / s. Furthermore,
from the test results, the launcher system is able to produce a maximum launcher
speed that is close to the calculation results, which is 15.092m / s. This launcher
speed fulfills the criteria for launcher velocity that is ≥ 13.8 m / s. With a
maximum speed that meets these criteria, the launcher system has proven
successful in helping the Serindit V-2 vehicle take off stably.
