Gambaran Penggunaan Ventilator Mekanik Pada Pasien Covid-19 Di Icu Pinere Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Tahun 2020–2021

Mechanical ventilator is a breathing aid that play a role in the process of gas exchange in the alveoli by providing positive pressure into the lungs. Severe inflammatory processes in Covid-19 patient can cause ventilation disorder resulting in respiratory failure and require supportive therapy to help patient to maintain adequate oxygenation. The aim of this study was to know the overview of mechanical ventilator use in Covid-19 patient at ICU Pinere Arifin Achmad Regional General Hospital of Riau Province in 2020-2021. Type of research was descriptive rertospective with data were collected from medical records. From 53 medical records that matched with inclusion and exclusion criteria, the patient characteristic in general were 22 (41,5%) patients were in the age range of 45-59 years and 31 (58,5%) patients were male. A total of 30 (56.6%) patients had one comorbid and 20 (37.7%) patients had comorbid diabetes mellitus.
