Pemanfaatan Paitan (Tithonia Diversifolia) Sebagai Nutrisi Untuk Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Tanaman Selada (Lactuca Sativa L.) Secara Hidroponik
ABSTRACT
Red lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) is one type of lettuce that is in demand by the public due to its anthocyanin compounds which are beneficial for health. The area of production land is still a problem in the lettuce cultivation process, especially for urban areas. The concept of urban farming can be a solution in the midst of dense urban development by carrying out hydroponic cultivation. Nutrient solution is an important factor for plant growth and quality. Liquid organic fertilizer can be used as nutrients for plant growth. One of the plants that can be used as liquid organic fertilizer is paitan plant. This study aims to determine the effect and obtain the best concentration of Paitan liquid organic fertilizer for hydroponic red lettuce cultivation. This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden Screen House, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from December 2019 to January 2020, using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments. The treatment given was the concentration of paitan leaf liquid organic fertilizer which consisted of 4 levels ((200, 250, 300 dan 350 ml.l-1 water) and each treatment was repeated 4 times. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, plant fresh weight, edible fresh weight and root volume. The data obtained were analyzed statistically by analysis of variance and then continued by using Duncan's multiple distance test at a level of 5%. Data analysis using SAS version 9.0. The use of 200 ml.l-1 POC paitan gave significantly better results on plant fresh weight parameters than other treatments.
