Culture is something that is very essential in the humanization process in a cultured society. So in practice every actor or stakeholder must preserve the heritage of the ancestors so that it does not disappear from the habits that have been applied. Traditional houses are one way for the Indonesian people to introduce their cultural wealth. Every region in Indonesia, from west to east, has a different culture and lifestyle, so that from these differences, various cultures are created that have their own characteristics and privileges. There are two problem formulations in this study, namely how is the role of actors in efforts to preserve the sentajo traditional house and what are the obstacles for actors in preserving the sentajo traditional house.
The research approach used is a qualitative approach. while the type of research used is descriptive. Data were collected by the authors using interview and documentation techniques. The data used are primary data obtained from research informants and further supported by secondary data obtained from various government agencies and customary institutions related to this research.
The results of the study show the role of the actor in making various efforts to realize the Tourism Traditional House in Kenegerian Sentajo . This is supported by the role of actors, in this case the customary institutions, the Koto Sentajo Village Government, and all stakeholders. The efforts made are to use the theory of the government's role, namely (1) the role as a community service, (2) the role as a facilitator, (3) the role as a companion, (4) the role as a partner, (5) the role as a funder. Based on several problems faced by the committee in carrying out facilitation in the field. Prices of goods in the building shop and the price of materials at the wooden kiosk sometimes always have price changes, the number of types of work that are not included in the old RAB, the RAB does not match the unit price, it is necessary to revise the RAB.
