Optimasi Ph Dan Kecepatan Pengadukan Pada Penjerapan Methylene Blue Menggunakan Biosorben Biji Nangka Teraktivasi Hno3 Yang Dimodifikasi Dengan Ca-Alginat
SUMMARY
Jackfruit seed is a biomass derived from processing waste of ripe jackfruit that was
not used optimally. Jackfruit seeds have high starch content so that they can be
utilized as an adsorbent in adsorbing dye. The aim of this study is to determine the
pH and optimum stirring speed of the adsorbent of jackfruit seed powder, activated
HNO3, modified Ca-alginate in adsorbing methylene blue dye. Jackfruit seed
powder activated HNO3, modified-Ca-alginate was made by mixing jackfruit seed
powder activated with Na-alginate assisted by cross-binder agent, CaCl2. The
modified adsorbent was tested for its absorption ability by using variations in pH
(1, 2, 3, 4) and stirring speed (50, 100, 150, 200, 250 rpm) through UV-Vis
characterization to determine the absorbance of methylene blue. The functional
groups of the modified adsorbent were analyzed by using the FTIR instrument and
the surface morphology of the modified adsorbent was analyzed by using the SEM
instrument. The results of this study showed that the pH and optimum stirring speed
of the modified adsorbent in adsorbing methylene blue, was in pH 2 and stirring
speed of 200 rpm with adsorption efficiency of 85.76%.
