Strategi Pengelolaan Sampah Rumah Tangga Di Kecamatan Bengkalis

Household waste is an early reflection of the accumulation of waste in an
urban area. Accumulation of household waste occurs almost every year in
Bengkalis District. The amount of household waste is based on high consumption
patterns. Minimizing the accumulation of household waste by knowing household
waste management in Bengkalis District.
The objectives of this research are to analyze household waste
management in Bengkalis District and develop strategies for household waste
management in Bengkalis District. The research was conducted using a
qualitative approach using survey methods with descriptive analysis and SWOT
(Strengths-Weaknesses-Opportunities-Threats) analysis.
The selected population in Bengkalis Sub-District is 6 (six)
Villages/Keluarahan namely Bengkalis Kota Sub-District, Damon Sub-District,
Rimba Sekampung Sub-District, Kelapapati Village, Wonosari Village and
Senggoro Village in Bengkalis Sub-District. Sample selection using random
sampling and purposive sampling methods.
The parameters measured were internal factors and external factors
regarding household waste management from the community and government,
through interviews, secondary data, observation and documentation in Bengkalis
District. The stages of SWOT analysis are identifying internal factors and
external factors of household waste management in Bengkalis District, analyzing
internal strategic factors and external strategic factors, calculating the difference
between internal and external factors, determining and analyzing the spatial
matrix of household waste management in Bengkalis District.
The result of research shows that the management of household waste in
Bengkalis District has not been fully implemented. The need for education and
practice for 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) waste management. Based on the SWOT
analysis, the household waste management strategy in Bengkalis District that was
chosen was the strategy (S-O) of strengths and opportunities. Formulated namely:
Evaluation of solid waste facilities and infrastructure in improving the
performance of solid waste services in the city of Bengkalis. Make SOPs in
writing, so that waste services comply with the rules and the public knows the
regular schedule for waste transportation in Bengkalis District. Carry out the
Retribution listed in the Regional Government Regulations. Continuously
optimizing for the community to manage waste independently with existing
information systems, both digitally and non-digitally.
