Struktur Komunitas Diatom Epilitik Bacillariophyceae Pada Lambung Kapal Di Perairan Kota Dumai

ABSTRACT This research was conducted in March 2022 in the waters of Dumai City, Riau Province with the aim to knowing the type of epilytic diatoms based on the type of hull materials (wood, and fiber). The method used a survey method and the analysis is carried out at the Marine Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science Affairs. The results showed that there were 12 species of diatoms found. Three epilytic diatoms with high abundance levels, namely Pleurosigma sp, Skeletonema sp, and Synedra sp. These species become species that are tolerant of currents and air pressure. The highest abundance of epilytic diatoms was found in station 1 wooden hull material with a value of 153316.6 ind/cm2, and the lowest abundance was found in station 2 fiber hull material with a value of 8862.23 ind/cm2. The average value of the species diversity index (H') ranges from 1.571 – 2.3619. Species uniformity (E) ranged from 0.4122 – 0.7873. diatom dominance index (D) ranged from 0.42 – 0.6623.
