Pengaruh Kapur Kalsit (Caco3) Dan Kompos Tandan Kosong Kelapa Sawit (Tkks) Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Tanaman Jagung Manis (Zea Mays Saccharata L.) Di Medium Tanam Ultisol
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to determine the interaction between calcite and empty palm fruit bunch (EPFB) compost, and single factor of calcite and EPFB compost in increasing the growth and yield of sweet corn plants in Ultisol growing medium, and obtaining the optimal dose of calcite and EPFB compost produced the best growth and yield of sweet corn plants in Ultisol growing medium. The study was a 4x4x3 factorial design using factorial RAL, each with 4 levels and 3 replications. The first factor of giving calcite lime consisted of 4 levels, namely 0, 4.32, 5.40, and 7.56 ton.ha-1. The second factor gave EPFB compost which consisted of 4 levels, namely 0, 5, 10, and 15 ton.ha-1. Parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, leaf area, plant growth rate, root length, number of cobs, cob length, and cob weight. The data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and further testing with the DNMRT test at the 5% level. Research showed that calcite and EPFB compost affected on plant height, stem diameter, leaf area, root length, and cob weight. Doses of calcite 4.32-5.40 ton.ha-1 and EPFB compost of 5-10 ton.ha-1 can increase plant height, stem diameter, leaf area, plant growth rate, root length, number of cobs, cob length, and cob weight. The best dose for producing optimal growth and yield of sweet corn on Ultisol planting medium was 4.32 ton.ha-1 of calcite and 10 ton.ha-1 of EPFB compost.
