Analisis Nilai Kerugian Ekonomi Dari Pangan Tak Terkonsumsi (Food Waste) Rumah Tangga Di Kecamatan Binawidya Kota Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the effect of education, number of family members, and family income on food that is not consumed by households in Binawidya District, Pekanbaru City, and calculate the value of losses borne by households from any wasted food. This research is a quantitative research, where the household as the object of research. The data of this research was obtained by distributing questionnaires and collecting food waste directly to 99 household respondents with the sampling technique of cluster sampling. The analytical test tool used in this study is Multiple Linear Regression and the calculation of the estimated value of wasted food economic loss.
The results showed that the education variable had a negative and significant effect on the unconsumed food. The variable number of family members has a positive and significant effect on the food not consumed. The family income variable has a positive and significant effect on the food not consumed. Based on the results of the F test, it is known that the variables of income, number of family members, and family income together have a significant effect on the food not consumed by households in Binawidya District. Based on the output results on the Coefficient of Determination, it is known that the variables of education, number of family members, and family income together have an effect on wasted food by 87%, while the remaining 13% is explained by other variables not found in this study. The average weight of food waste produced by households is 64.03gr/RT/day or 1,920.90gr/RT/month. Meanwhile, the amount of economic loss that must be borne by the household is Rp.661.68/RT/day or Rp.19.850.28/RT/month with a percentage value of economic loss which is 0.50%/RT/month or 5.94%/RT. /year.
