Kondisi Limnologi Sungai Selodang Di Desa Sungai Selodang Kecamatan Sungai Mandau Kabupaten Siak
ABSTRACT
Selodang River is a distributary channel originated from the Mandau River. Along the river of the Selodang River, there are palm and rubber plant plantations activities. During the rainy season the run off water may carry organic materials originated from the plantations and it is potencial to increase the organic matter of the water and thus affect the limnological condition of the water. A study aims to determine the limnological condition based on physical, chemical, and biological parameters were conducted in June – July 2022. Samplings were carried out 3 times, once 2 weeks. Parameters measured were temperature, brigtness, depth, current speed, nitrate, phosphate and chlorophyll-a concentrations. Data obtained were analyzed using a Simple Regression Analysis (Microsoft Excel). Results shown that temperature was 29-30oC, brightness 34-36 cm, depth 8.12-13.17 m, current speed 0.22-025 m/sec, DO 2.79-3.62 mg/L, Free CO2 17.31-21.31 mg/L, pH 4.28-4.57, chlorophyll-a 5.95-14.49
, nitrate 0.0579-0.078 mg/L and phosphate 0.0671-0.073 mg/L. Results of the analysis shown that the chlorophyll-a distribution is affected by brightness, current speed, temperature, pH, and nitrate concentration. The nitrate concentration indicates that the water is oligotrophic, but the phosphates eutrophic and chlorophyll-a concentration indicate that the water is mesotrophic. In general the limnological conditions of the Selodang River can be classified as good and able to support the life of aquatic organisms.
