Abstract
The main problem in carp cultivation is the occurrence of infection by
pathogenic microorganisms which results in a decrease in fish production. Efforts
made to prevent these bacterial diseases can be done by giving
phytoimmunostimulants derived from guava leaves (P. guajava). The purpose of this
study was to compare the hematological conditions and growth of carp (C. Carpio)
fed with the addition of guava leaves (P. guajava) and reared in fresh and saline
water. This research was conducted in February-April 2022. The method used was an
experimental method by comparing goldfish fed with a mixture of
phytoimmunostimulants kept in fresh and saline water. The parameters observed were
hematology and growth. The results obtained in this study, namely the addition of
guava leaf phytoimmunostimulants to the feed did not interfere with the health of
goldfish from a hematological point of view and growth that was reared in fresh or
saline water. Total erythrocytes in KJA ranged from 1.41-1.73 x 106 mm/cell3,
Hematocrit 28.00-31.67%, Hemoglobin 6.00-8.03 g/dL and blood glucose 61.00-
67.66 mg/dL while in saline water the total erythrocytes ranged from 1.21-1.42 x 106
mm/cell3, Hematocrit 21.66-29.66%, Hemoglobin 5.33.00-6.83 g/dL and blood
glucose 48.66-52.00 mg/dL. For the growth profile of carp in KJA, the absolute
weight ranges from 15.70-26.97 g, and the survival rate is 93.33-94.67%, while in
saline water the absolute weight ranges from 10.18-19.40 g and the survival rate is
85.33 -86.67%.
