Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Conceptual Understanding Procedures Dalam Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Pada Topik Klasifikasi Materi Dan Perubahannya Siswa Kelas VII SMPN 6 Siak Hulu
The use of instructional media, planting science concepts, principles, and laws will result
in more effective learning. Learning that involves the active role of students is a learning model of
understanding conceptual procedures (CUPs). Learning Media using mind mapping in both classes
as a medium for recording student understanding. Types of research used is Quasi Experiment with
Posttest Only Control Group Design namely using one experimental class and one control class. The
sampling technique used by researchers is simple random sampling. The sample used is class VII 2
with a total of 28 students as the experimental class and class VII 3 with a total of 27 students as the
control class. Results research from descriptive and inferential analysis shows that students'
understanding of the concept of class there is a difference in the experimental and control class, the
average score of the experimental class is higher than control class. The state of understanding the
concept of science on the topic of material classification and its changes learning model
understanding conceptual procedures in the experimental class higher than the control class that
applies conventional learning. Understanding students' concepts through learning conceptual
understanding procedures in class experimental class is better than the control class, so learning
conceptual understanding procedures more effective in increasing understanding of the concept.
