Abstract
Mangrove Crab (Scylla serrata) is a fishery resource that has the potential to be developed in mangrove areas and has high economic value. Pasir Limau Kapas District is one of the sub-districts in Rokan Hilir Regency which has extensive mangrove forests. Meanwhile, the mangrove ecosystem is now being converted by many people, such as logging mangrove forests to expand settlements, fishing, garbage disposal and mangrove wood production. This study aims to analyze the status of sustainability in the management of Mud Crab resources and to determine sensitive attributes that can contribute to the sustainability of Mud Crab resource management in the District of Pasir Limau Kapas. The informants in this study were fishermen who catch mud crabs and experts (people who understand) and still have a relationship with mangrove crab resource management at the research site. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, interviews, and literature studies. The data analysis used is Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS) through the Rapfish approach. The results of the analysis of the sustainability status of Mud Crab resource management are in the less sustainable category with a value of 50.06. Some sensitive attributes that can contribute to the sustainable management of Mud Crab resources in Pasir Limau Kapas District are the attributes of the Last 5 Years Catch, Processing Before Sales, Mangrove Vegetation Density, Fisheries Extension, Existence and Role of Local Institutions, and Marketing of Production Results.
