Strategi Pengembangan Wisata Di Kawasan Konservasi Pulau Mapur Kabupaten Bintan
This research was carried out in February 2022 in Bintan Waters, located
on Mapur Island, Bintan Regency, Riau Archipelago Province. The aims of the
study were: to determine the potential for tourism development in the marine
protected area of Mapur Island and to analyze the strategy for tourism
development in the marine protected area of Mapur Island. The method used in
this study is (Mix Method) qualitative and quantitative. In this study, researchers
explored data and information on topics or issues related to strategies for tourism
development by describing qualitatively and for quantitative data using SWOT
analysis. In selecting informants, researchers used a purposive sampling
technique with 30 respondents, namely, 1 village, 1 PKK, 1 Community
Empowerment Institute (LPM), 1 Youth Organization chairman, 1 Ecology
Foundation Team, 3 fishermen and 22 tourists. Data collection techniques are
participatory observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation.
The results of the study show that the potential for tourism development in
Mapur Village is a water conservation area which has now been designated as a
TWP (water tourism park) in East Bintan. As a village that has great potential
and is very promising when viewed from its natural resources, one of which is
abundant sea grapes, it has high economic value and "very suitable" aquatic
ecological conditions to support marine grape cultivation activities using
ecofarming techniques.Based on the SWOT quadrant, it shows that tourism
development on Mapur Island has an opportunity value of 3.17 and a strength
value of 3.13 which is in quadrant I. According to Rangkuti (2019) the strategy
that must be carried out in accordance with quadrant I is an aggressive strategy
(Growth), namely by maximizing all the strengths possessed by Mapur Village by
taking advantage of the maximum opportunities. There are 4 S-O strategies that
can be carried out in developing marine grape tourism in Mapur village, namely
as follows: cultivating marine grapes with ecofarming techniques, utilizing
marine grapes, beautiful beaches to bring in tourists and opening business
opportunities for village communities. Building cooperation between village
communities and the government, universities and LPM and expanding
promotions.
