Peran Kepala Sekolah Dan Komite Sekolah Dalam Membantu Meningkatkan Mutu Sekolah Pada SMA Negeri 1 Pinggir
The quality of education is one of the pillars of human resource development which is very important for national development. Even the future of the nation lies in the existence of quality and quality education today. Quality education will only emerge if there are educational institutions that really pay attention to the quality of education itself. The high and low quality of education is inseparable from the role of the school principal. Principals play an important role in improving the quality of education by having a vision and mission, as well as an education management strategy as a whole and quality-oriented. Another factor that has a significant influence on school quality is the participation of the local community which is represented through the School Committee. The School Committee is an independent body that facilitates community participation in the context of improving the quality, equity and efficiency of education management in education units, both in pre-school education, school education pathways, and non-school education pathways by providing consideration, direction and staff support, facilities and infrastructure, as well as educational supervision at the education unit level (PP Number 17 of 2010 article 196 paragraph 1). The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the principal in improving quality at SMA Negeri 1 Pinggir. And to find out the role of the school committee in improving quality at SMA Negeri 1 Periphery. In addition, this study also aims to identify and analyze the supporting factors and strategies of school principals and school committees in improving quality at SMA Negeri 1 Pinggir. Based on the objectives of this study, this study used a qualitative descriptive approach. A qualitative approach is seen as more relevant for use in observing and analyzing the role of school principals and committees in quality improvement at SMA Negeri 1 Pinggir. A qualitative approach is implemented as an effort to understand a particular situation in the form of case study research. In this study, the data and data sources taken were the principal, deputy principal, school administration, class teacher, school committee, committee members, student guardians and the community who had direct contact with SMA Negeri Pinggir. The data collection technique that will be carried out is by going through the following stages: interviews, documentation and observation. Based on interviews, documentation and observations made, it is known that, firstly, the principal understands his duties and responsibilities as headmaster, principal and strives to carry out all of his duties or roles as best as possible in order to improve the quality of schools such as educators, administrators, supervisors and leaders in school. Second, the school committee is able to work closely with both the school and outside the school to carry out its role as a deliberative body, liaison body, controlling body and mediator for schools. With such a complex role the school committee is still able to present information regarding the progress of other schools for the school as a reference.

Third, supporting factors for school principals in improving school quality include school principals having professional teachers and having a clear vision and mission and supported by other development programs. Supporting factors for the school committee are openness and good cooperation from the community around the school so as to facilitate the school committee's work. Fourth, both committees and school principals have certain strategies to improve school quality. The school principal discloses information about the program to be carried out and receives input or corrections from the committee and the community, while the school committee is able to communicate very well with parties outside the school for evaluation of school programs and the surrounding community who can directly supervise the school and the education process.
