Uji Potensi Bakteri Endofittanaman Laban (Vitex Pubescens Vahl.) Bacillus Subtilis Strain Kbc1 Untuk Menekan Penyakit Pada Tanaman Sawi (Brassica Juncea L.)
Mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.) is one of the broad leaf vegetable
commodities that has the potential to be cultivated due to the high public demand
for vegetables. The low production of mustard greens is caused by many factors,
including pests and plant diseases. Important diseases of mustard greens are wet
rot caused by Erwinia caratovora and black rot caused by Xanthomonas
campestris. One of the microbes that can be used in biological control is
endophytic bacteria. Many applications of Bacillus subtilis have been carried out
with good expectations.
The research was carried out at the Laboratory of Plant Diseases,
Postgraduate Program in Agricultural Sciences, University of Riau and the Soil
Microbiology Entomology Pathology Laboratory (PEMTA) of Sultan Syarif
Kasim Riau State Islamic University and the Experimental Unit was carried out in
the Perawang screen house, Tualang Village. In this study, topsoil was taken at a
depth of 0-20 cm which had not been cultivated or planted. This research was
conducted in stages, stage 1, testing the inhibition of Bacillus subtillis strain
KBC1 and Bacillus velezensis strain B15 against Erwinia caratovora and
Xanthomonas campestris. stage 2, Hyposensitive test of Bacillus subtillis KBC1
strain against mustard plants. Stage 3, Test Bacillus subtillis strain KBC1 against
Erwinia caratovora on mustard greens. In this research, in Stage 1 and Stage 2,
the data were analyzed descriptively. Stage 3, the data were analyzed using Sidik
Ragam. Then proceed with the DMRT test at a level of 5%.
Inoculation results Bacillus subtilis strain KBC1 has the ability to inhibit
the growth of E. caratovora. Inoculation of Bacillus subtilis KBC1 strain was not
pathogenic to mustard greens. Inoculation of Bacillus subtilis strain KBC1 in a
population of 106 cfu/ml stimulated an increase in plant height of 32.75 cm,
number of leaves of 20.00, leaf length of 22.75 cm, wet weight of 142 grams and
administration of Bacillus subtilis strain KBC1 106 cfu/ml was able to suppress
attack by E. caratovora.
