Strategi Pengelolaan Limbah Padat RSUD Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau (Studi Kasus Masa Pandemi Covid-19)
The aim of this research is to formulate a solid waste management
strategy at Arifin Achmad Hospital, which is a referral hospital for Covid-19
patients. The research was conducted by collecting secondary data in the form of
medical and non-medical solid waste generation data from hospitals before and
during the Covid-19 pandemic. Primary data through filling out questionnaires
and in-depth interviews. The number of respondents was 34 people consisting of 4
sanitarian teams, 12 nurses in the pinere room, 2 garbage collectors, 9 garbage
sorting officers, 6 waste processors, and 1 person from the management team,
namely the Head of Household Subdivision.
The results of the study showed that during the Covid-19 pandemic there
was an increase in the amount of medical and non-medical solid waste. The
biggest waste generation will occur in 2021, which will be 2 times the 2020.
Obstacles in solid waste management at the Arifin Achmad Regional General
Hospital in Riau Province during the Covid-19 pandemic were the inaccuracy of
human resources in following SOPs and the lack of human resources in waste
collection activities. The strategy for managing medical solid waste uses the SO
strategy (opportunity strength) because the results of the SWOT analysis show
superiority in the strengths and opportunities that Arifin Achmad Hospital has.
The strategy implemented is to improve the quality and competence of human
resources for nurses and solid waste managers and to improve supporting
infrastructure for the management of medical and non-medical solid waste.
