Prarancangan Pabrik Etilen Oksida Dari Etilen Dan Oksigen Dengan Proses Dow Meteor Dengan Disain Alat Utama Stripper 1
ABSTRACT
The need for ethylene oxide in Indonesia is increasing along with the many factories that use ethylene oxide as a raw material. Ethylene oxide is one of the chemicals that has many industrial uses, such as a raw material in the manufacture of ethylene glycol, as an intermediate material and as an insecticide. In the manufacture of ethylene oxide using the Dow Meteor process, the main raw materials used are ethylene and oxygen. The factory is planned to operate for 330 days/year and work 24 hours/day with a production capacity of 200,000 tons/year and will be built in Cilegon, Banten. The main design tool in this factory is Stripper 1 which functions to regenerate oxygen solution by releasing argon from oxygen solution. Stripper 1 is operated at -1830C and 1.3 bar pressure. The economic analysis of this plant design shows that the ethylene oxide plant from ethylene and oxygen is feasible to build with a Break Event Point (BEP) of 50% and a Payback Period (PBP) of 1.1 years.
