Strategi Pengendalian Kebisingan Di Pabrik Kelapa Sawit (Studi Kasus Pt. Tunggal Perkasa Plantations)
Noise from palm oil factory machines is one of the problems that cause
occupational diseases that still lack special attention regarding the impact
received by workers.
This study aims to analyze the relationship between noise and the duration of
worker exposure and to analyze noise control at the Palm Oil Mill. This research
is later expected to be taken into consideration for companies in formulating
control strategies that can be applied.
To answer the above objectives, field surveys, questionnaires and in-depth
interviews were carried out with workers and the local community. Social and
economic data were analyzed descriptively. While the SWOT analysis is used to
formulate a noise control strategy at the palm oil mill, PT. Single Perkasa
Plantations.
The results showed that there was a noise value that exceeded the threshold value,
namely 85 db(Decible), which was 16 noise points. From the regulatory,
management, social and economic aspects owned by the company can be a
supporting factor to improve noise control in the work area.
The strategy formulated in noise control at the palm oil mill is in quadrant I,
namely the S-O (Strenght-Opportunities) strategy, namely increasing the
application of standard operating procedures at work can improve the company's
image, having an OHS management system certificate can increase the company's
promotion of successful implementation of SMK3, improve corporate image and
improving the community's economy, implementing work procedures by
regulating working hours, conducting periodic health checks and providing
personal protective equipment for workers will help promote companies related to
SMK3 and carry out periodic machine maintenance to minimize damage to
production machines that can damage the company's image drop.
