Strategi Kepala Sekolah Dalam Mengembangkan Kompetensi Profesionalisme Guru Untuk Meningkatkan Mutu Pendidikan Di SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru
This research aims to describe the headmaster strategy in developing teacher’s professional competence to improve the quality of education at SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru. The research in this thesis is descriptivie with qualitatif approach, the techniques in data collection are interviews, observation, and documentation, while techniques in data analysis used data reduction, display data, checking validity of the data through triangulation and conclusion. The results of the study show that the headmaster strategy in increasing teacher professionalism is to increase the ability of teachers to carry out their duties as teachers, optimize the utilization and use of media and educational facilities by activating the Teacher Working Group (KKG), motivating teachers, training, comparative studies, teacher evaluation meetings, supervision class, giving punishment and reward, and through participatory leadership style.
