Kecepatan Renang Maksimum Pada Ikan Gurame (Osphronemus Goramy) Dan Ikan Sepat Siam (Trichogaster Pectoralis) Di Dalam Tangki Berarus Dan Akuarium
Abstract
This research was conducted from April 1st to October 30th, 2022 at the Fishing Gear and Equipment Laboratory, Department of Fisheries Resource Utilization, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Riau. The method used was an experimental method. The fish samples used consisted of 27 individuals for each type of fish, with sizes ranging from 8-10 cm for gourami and 11-13 cm for siamese gourami. The results showed that the sustained swimming speed of both types of fish was less than 3,07 BL/s for gourami and less than 2,28 BL/s for Siamese gourami. with maximum sustained swimming speed was 3,07 BL/s and 2,28 BL/s for boths types of fish, The prolonged swimming speed for gourami ranged from 3.07-8.59 BL/s and for siamese gourami ranged from 2.28-7.25 BL/s. The burst swimming speed for both types of fish was 8,59 BL/s and 7,25 BL/s. The study also found that there was a strong negative correlation between swimming speed and endurance for both types of fish, with an R2 value of 0.5093 for gourami and 0.5352 for siamese gourami. This means that an increase in swimming speed led to a decrease in their endurance.
