Pembinaan Prestasi Cabang Olahraga Pencak Silat Pusat Pendidikan Dan Latihan Olahraga Pelajar (PPLP) Provinsi Riau

Each research activity certainly has aims and objectives, based on the formulation of the
existing problems, the goal to be achieved in this study is to evaluate the achievement development
program for the pencak silat sports education and training center for PPLP students in Riau
Province. The research method used is the evaluation of the CIPP model program (context, input,
process, product). Data is collected in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. Data
sources were obtained from several sources (several administrators, coaches, and PPLP pencak
silat athletes from Riau Province). The results of this study indicate (1) context, the Riau Province
PPLP pencak silat sports achievement development program has gone well, has a clear
management structure, good management, and a good coaching vision and mission as a forum for
coaching student sports in the academic field and creates outstanding students. (2) The input of the
coaching program, the recruitment of good and professional trainers because the requirements to
become a trainer at PPLP Riau Province are by having a national level license then the recruitment
of PPLP Riau Province athletes is in accordance with the stages and criteria provided by
DISPORA. The facilities and infrastructure are complete but there needs to be a little renewal to
make it comfortable for athletes to achieve achievements. (3) The coaching process, the training
process which is still not in accordance with the coaching program where there is no try-out, tryin
because it is constrained by the Covid-19 pandemic (4) Products resulting from the
achievements of the PPLP Pencak Silat athletes in Riau Province are currently not available said
to have increased because it was still hampered by the Covid-19 outbreak.
So from this statement, there are two aspects that hinder the development of the achievement of
pencak silat athletes from the Riau Province PPLP in the input aspect, namely infrastructure
facilities that are still a lot of damaged training equipment and have not renewed so that it
becomes the main obstacle for PPLP Riau Province pencak silat athletes to practice, and in the
Product aspect the athlete's performance has decreased due to the achievements of the last PPLP
Riau Province pencak silat athletes at the POPDA championship in 2019.
