Status Keberlanjutan Alat Tangkap Gombang Dan Belat Berdasarkan Aspek Ekologi, Teknologi Dan Sosial Di Kecamatan Merbau Provinsi Riau
Abstract
This research was conducted in November 2022 in Merbau District, Meranti Islands
Regency, Riau Province with the aim of knowing the sustainability status of the barrier
trap gear based on ecological, social and technological aspects. The method used in this
study is a survey method, while the determination of respondents in this study using
purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews and direct
documentation with 2 academics from the Faculty of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs of
UNRI, 2 respondents from the Meranti District Fisheries Service, 4 respondents from
capture fisheries entrepreneurs (traders and collectors), 2 fishermen group leaders, and
fisherman as many as 10respondents. The results of the study show that there is a
decrease in the number of barrier trap gear every year, in 2020 the number of barrier trap
gear will be 65 units and in 2022 the number of barrier trap gear will be 9 units. Barrier
trap gear gear is not selective as seen from the leverage analysis that has been carried out
with a sensitivity attribute value of 40.53. Barrier trap gear can catch small fish that are
not yet fit to be caught, the sustainability status of barrier trap gear can be seen through
attribute values from three dimensions. The sustainability index value for the ecological
dimension of barrier trap gear is 51.11, which means it is quite sustainable. For the
sustainability index value of the technological dimension in catching fish using the barrier
trap gear of 40.53, this value is classified as less sustainable. For the index value of the
social dimension in fishing using the barrier trap gear of 59.99, it means that it is in a
fairly sustainable category.
